Principal's Corner
Hello Mullenix Ridge Families,
I am honored to serve as the proud principal of Mullenix Ridge Elementary. As a former Eagle myself, I walked these very halls as a student in Mullenix Ridge’s first-ever 1st-grade class, shot hoops, played tag, learned how to read, and connected with kids who are still my friends today. Now, I have the privilege of leading this incredible school community.
At Mullenix Ridge, we are dedicated to continuing a long-standing tradition of excellence where professionalism, teamwork, community, and lifelong learning are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in the power of connection, and I personally strive to treat every student as if their last name were Douglas as they walk down our halls.
I bring to Mullenix Ridge over 16 years of experience in education, working in the Peninsula, University Place, and Steilacoom School Districts, with an extensive background in special education. In Steilacoom, I served as an assistant principal for one year before becoming the principal at Cherrydale Elementary for seven years. I am thrilled to bring my passion for South Kitsap School District back to the community I grew up in and value so deeply.
Beyond my role as principal, I am also a husband and father of two daughters, Hadley and Blakely. My wife, Kristen Douglas, is also a South Kitsap graduate, and we met right here in the district at Sedgwick Junior High. I’m a proud Vizsla dog owner, an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys bird hunting, fly fishing, and the occasional round of golf when I can sneak away from my family for a bit, and I genuinely love connecting with others.
I am incredibly fortunate to work alongside the best teachers and support staff around. Their commitment to student learning and success makes Mullenix Ridge a truly special place. They are the best in the business.
I look forward to partnering with families, students, staff, and our incredible PTA, to ensure that Mullenix Ridge remains a place where kids can be kids and learning is always the first priority. Please feel free to reach out, introduce yourself, or stop by. I look forward to connecting with you.
